Hi
I have Toshiba Satellite A505 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Original
And am using truecrypt to encrypt the system (it was working fine for few weeks)
my system was running fine untill i got BSOD with Error: BAD_POOL_CALLER
and upon reboot i ended up with a frozen boot screen with no access to the bios or any of the possible boot devices.
i couldn't go beyond the initial logo screen, pressing F2 (to go into the bios options) did not work. the only keys that worked were ctrl-alt-del to reboot the hardware which would again bring me back to the same screen. i could not even open the cd player in order to try booting the truecrypt repair disk. everything was frozen !
anyway after trying many things i find out that the problem was from the hdd and if i remove it i can access the bios and after searching forums i find that changing the 'sata mode' option in bios which was set to "ahci" to "ide" allowed the booting process to proceed beyond the sticking point until i finally got to my truecrypt password prompt
now someone told me that i have to follow the steps in this link
Error message when you start a Windows 7 or Windows Vista-based computer after you change the SATA mode of the boot drive: "STOP 0x0000007B INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE"
to be able to choose "ahci" again and boot normally
but i wanted to know what caused the system to crash in first place and if its related to truecrypt (so i get rid of it) or its another software or driver
i attached the required files mentioned in the Posting Instructions
if someone could have a look at them and help me out
thanks in advance for ur help
