Age of empires 2 conquerers edition

so basically i have a alienware m11x laptop with windows 7, and age of empires 2 age of kings runs fine but everytime i launch age of empires 2 conquerers edition it crashes the game... i have more then enough hardware to play this game... and the windows 7 built in compatibility doesn't help
