The manual tells you nothing about how to use a SD card, and there is no slot on the phone or inside after removing the back. How the $#@% are you supposed to use a SD card with this thing?! I just wanted to load some mp3's but i can't see a way. Sorry if this sound very noob, but i'm not a techie and this is my first cell phone !

Do you have the 52 page manual? Or something else?

I would have to agree that the manual tells you very little and this tutorial that I found is just as bad.

If you go to the tutorial that shows how to insert the SIM card Click on steps #2 and 3 to have them interact and play, once you get to #3 you will see the sim card inserted, the SD card goes into the gray colored holder to the left. There is a small picture of a SIM card molded into the left side of where the card goes to show orientation, but there is none as far as I can see to show where the SD card goes.

I was finally able to figure out where the card went by watching this video of another Alcatel phone, the Pixie3, go to 1:30 of the video and he describes where the cards go. I'm making my decision by matching the card holders as he described them:

You don't mention it but the phone takes a SD micro memory card, and looking at this amazon site there are some things to watch out for when you use the card, you'll find this quote within the review titled "A lot of bang for your buck. So far, looks like a really nice phone.":

I bought an 8 gig micro SD memory card at Walgreen's this past weekend that was on sale for $9.99, marked down from $29.99. You remove the back cover and there's a little slot the card fits into. Make sure you turn the phone off before you do this. Once you've installed the card and turn the phone back on it automatically creates the same file folders on the memory card, that are on the simm card.

WARNING! Don't do what I did - Instead of installing the card in the phone first, I put the card in my computer and made my own directories, and for reasons unknown to me, that created problems. I wasn't able to copy more than a dozen files to the memory card, and later when I tried to delete the directories and the mp3's I downloaded from the computer, they kept reappearing. I ended up taking the memory card back and exchanging it, and the 2nd time I installed it in the phone, then connected the phone to my computer, and had no problems at all.
I'm not sure where you purchased your phone, but you might do well if you went to a dedicated Tracfone store if it's not too far out of your way, and you have anymore questions: Find A Store | TracFone Wireless

Thanks, but i did figure that out after i posted this. My problem was the seller said it takes a SD card and didn't mention it's a MICRO. So i couldn't see any place for it to go even with the back off. Then i saw "micro" mentioned somewhere and thats when i looked inside again and saw the slot. Never noticed it before because i was looking for a much bigger slot.

You're welcome, new "toys" are always fun to play with, but as we both found out, it helps to have concise information to make the learning easier.
