Alfa AWUS036NH USB Wireless-N Adapter causing connection issues...

Two months ago I purchased a new ALFA AWUS036NH network adapter and installed it on both my laptop and desktop for testing on behalf of a client.

Since that time both PC's are dropping network connections which never happened before! Both systems are systems I have had for several years so I know the way they operate.

What is most frustrating is that after uninstalling the drivers and associated software the laptop constantly has problems connecting with its built in wifi adapter. I need wifi to work at client locations and at the college I work for... this is so frustrating!!!

Anyone have a similar issue?

ANy ideas on how to best proceed and fix this?

I would think that running CCleaner after uninstalling the drivers from Device Manager and then removing the associated registry entries with CCleaner might help. It sounds like you might have already done this...

After that it might help to run an IPReset which will flush the DNS, reset winsock and TCP/IP, renew the IP etc.

After you run the reset file, a screen shot of the ipconfig/all might also show us some problems.

Dropped connections can also be caused by channel crossover or wireless phones. It might help to check the channels being used in your area. Xirrus WiFi inspector is good for this.

I forgot to try netshell, thanks so far so good!

As for radio issues, cant be because it never exhibited this until I installed the Alfa drivers and nothing else has changed!
