Right now I'm trying my best to concentrate on doing my Algebra 2 homework, as you can see, It's not going so well. It's so boring, me and numbers don't "click," I don't think that way. :sleepy:

I'm wondering, is there a lot of math involved in the Information Technology field? I cannot do math for a living, simply not my field.

---Edit---

Also, I bet there are a few of you who are in this "IT" career field, I want to ask, what do you guys "do." I know it involves computers, but I want to hear from people who have experience instead of reading a random online article.

That just means you probably aren't going to be a video game programmer or engineer, but there are plenty of other areas in IT that you can go into. I bet you'd do fine in managing an organization's network and maybe repairing their systems. This wouldn't be math intensive. Although, who knows? Maybe one day things will just start "clicking" and you might discover that you are better at math than you think.

As others have said, math is used a lot in programming, but you may be able to find work doing something where programming is not involved. Also, just bare bones math is boring. I find physics, chemistry, and other subjects that require math interesting, but pre-calc is just way to boring for me to be interested for more than 20 minutes.

I noticed that you use the word boring instead of hard. Most people that I know that have trouble with math say that it is hard. Do you not understand how to do it, or do you find it repetitive? If the later, you may be good at it, but in a class that moves too slow for your needs.

It has been a long time since I had to use A1, A2, Geom, and Trig, and I wish I had stayed with it in high school, and took Physics, and Calculus that would have prepped me for Astronomy, and meteorology, but as "they" say "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride".

In today's economy you will need at least a bachelors degree to get your foot into the door with ongoing education to advance, but I'm not here to increase the severity of your skull pain, and I found this on YouTube and thought you might like it.

There are other videos on algebra that take a different look at solving problems and hopefully they can help to make your studies fun again.

I can't seem to grasp my leverage on math, so yes, it is hard and boring. Not my thing actually, not sure about physics but I'm taking it next year. I'd rather read a book...

Also, I made a stupid decision and took an advanced math class, I wanted to evaluate myself and experience how incomprehension feels like firsthand. Perhaps high school isn't the time to experiment. Still, it's fascinating.

High school is probably the best time to experiment in my opinion. Now is the time to get an idea of what your strengths and weaknesses are and what you like to do.

Perhaps, but still, my school doesn't offer a computer class. Keyboarding, and a few business classes. But none which allow us to concentrate solely on computers.
