All-around best current web browser?

I've been switching browsers basically every day lately, and it's all because I'm unable to decide what browser to use. From Sept. 08 up until about a month ago I was an avid Chrome user; its speed convinced me to switch from FF. I started using IE8 after I updated to 7, and deduced that it wasn't bad at all. A few days ago, I downloaded Opera 10.5pre-alpha, and I was amazed that its speed rivaled chrome. What do you guys suggest is the best browser to use, and why?

There is only one person in this forum that can answer that question. The person is you. Each browser works well, you can surf the net, etc, but all have different features. Me, on my old computer I used FF, because IE would lag and take too much time. Now, I am happy with IE. Ask yourself what makes you happy. Do you want speed, nice colors, security, what? When you get that answer then you will know which is the best brower, for you. Sorry that I could not give you a name, but no one can, but they will try. Bottom line its up to you.

Ever since Chrome introduced extensions, I have moved over to it from Firefox. I still have it crash on me quite often, since I either have to use beta or dev builds to use extensions. If they introduce the stable version with extensions, then I will make the switch for good.

I run Opera 10.10 without the frill. I also have 2 buttons in my address bar, "InIE" and "Chrome" and find many times I need them when Opera won't load the page as is or fails to finish in a reasonable time. Lately I have about given up on Opera fixing its problems in that area and just us IE 8

Isn't it just a little contrite to say you ran Opera without the frills, and then go on to talk about non-standard features failing to work within the same browser... ;)

i have used opera now for a few years and apart from the very occasional incompatible website it does everything i need and more, my most favourite option is opera link which means when switching between my laptop and different installs my browser still has all my favourites as i last left them :p

Not at all, the standard feature fail causing the need for non standard button to be used. The frills, their email, Unite, and turbo, to me those are useless.

Gotta hand it to you, for your unusual reasoning there... :p

It works perfectly for me, in fact on many sites it behaves much better than Microsofts overbloated offering... :D

This is the major reason I have switched over to Chrome. I can check my Gmail, Google Voice, Google Wave and Facebook all from my browser bar. I did download and play with Opera, but I think that I am going to stick with Chrome.

I'm happy with Firefox. But in all fairness, it's all I've used since I got a computer again a little over a year ago.....and going back some years before that, I used Netscape on Windows 95(with 33.6 dial-up:eek: ). Once I feel I am fully acclimated to this new computer and OS, maybe I will try the others out, but until then Firefox (with Adblock Plus, IE Tabs, and NoScript) is a comfort zone for me.:)

I always use Chrome my self now because of its speed and ease of use. I am also very impressed with Opera and FF, more Opera though. I have a satellite internet connection, and Chrome loads images and video up faster that any other browser I have. (IE, Op, FF, Avant, Netscape, Saf, and of course, Chrome)

Like when I am FB the pics especially in FB Chat take longer to load in others while Chrome is instant, :).

as mentioned before, it is really up to what you want! :D

LunaScape

Lunascape is the first hybrid browser, in other words you are able to use 3 different engines (Trident IE engine / Gecko Firefox engine / Webkit Safari and Chrome engines) moreover you can choose which web page has to be open with which engine.

NEW in last version many Firefox extensions works fine with LunaScape when using Gecko engine.

I use Opera and like it very much but some sites won't work with opera so I installed LunaScape as a second browser and enjoy surfing the page that did not work with Opera moreover I also enjoy Firefox extension and speed from webkit engine.

For further information and download please go here : Lunascape Web Browser - The World's First Hybrid Engine Browser

THE BAD THING : TO MANY USEFUL INFORMATION ARE IN JAPANESE IN LUNASCPAPE WEBSITE.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU

Lunascape

I actually came across lunascape myself recently and have it installed on my laptop.

It sure does offer a lot of configuration options it's a lot to take in at first, I do wish it had a built in mail client like Opera anyway this browser is very handy for web developers who want to check how their site displays in different engines.
