All Browser URL's Crash When dragged to desktop.

Hi, I have four different browsers installed: Firefox, IE8, and Chrome and Safari.

I first noticed this problem in Firefox and subsequent testing with all four browsers reveals the same problem.

First I drag the browser to the right or left of the screen to halfsize it. (Or do a restore down..) to expose part of the desktop.

Then I drag the icon at the left inside of the address bar to the desktop to create a shortcut.

Immediately firefox (All incidents of it too..) crashes with a browser error message and offers to restart or close.

However seperate browsers IE8 plus Chrome, plus Firefox do not cause the others to crash just their own instances.

I thought this may be a Firefox problem but it happens identically in IE8 Chrome and Safari. - So, I feel it may be a system problem.

I have replaced/updated the video drivers to ATI catalyst 10.8 and have updated all drivers for W7 64 bit devices on my PC.

I use the feature reguarly, and it started happening shortly after the Firefox update to 3.6.9 though I cannot with any certainty say this caused it.

I have totally uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, with no success, tried it with no plugins installed, downgraded it to a earlier version with no success, and have re-installed the latest version . No Joy.

It must be the system.

Ok I fixed this!

Ran SFC /scannow in a command window and rebooted after it stated some files had been fixed. Dragging address urls to desktop shortcuts works again in ALL browsers.

I'll save the logfile if anyone wants or needs it.
