I am thinking of replacing my wifes laptop with an AIO as she only uses it at home on the dining room table and we have no room for a tower.
We would then use the laptop when travelling or on Holidays.
I know absolutely nothing about them so i would like to know;
Can you add hard drives and cards like you can a tower, I would like a SSD and a large storage drive?
Can you add more Ram?

adding anything to laptops is expensive however adding external HDD is a cheap way out for more HDD space. however if you spent the money when you purchased the laptop asking for what you want in it initially with SSD "X" amount of ram & sofourth you will have a laptop that will last you for many years.

remember you are limited with space unlike towers. external HDD is really all you can add easy.

The all-in-one's essentially are laptops, just built into the monitor. They also have all the same upgrade limitations that a laptop has. You should be able to upgrade/change the hard drive or ram, but anything else is a no-go.
