All my desktop Icons are word icons

Hello Everyone,

I'm new here and hope you can help me with this little issue.

All of my desktop icons are displaying word icons and they all try to open up in word.

Also when I start the computer up, once it loads windows programs try to open in word automatically.

Is there anyway I can change the icons back please?

Dave, I had a similar, but not the same problem and fixed it here,
