All my icons are changed into windows media player help pls !!

hello!
I downloaded Itunes yesterday and suddenly after that all my icons changed into the itunes. so i removed/uninstalled the itunes hoping it will change... but it didnt, still my icons are shoig the itunes and its actually opening in windows media player . everything i click on, like IE, documents, control panel, everything.. i dont know what to do, can someone please HELP ME??? i dont want to lose any of my personal documents. Pls help me, I really appreciate it. and i have HP laptop , windows 7 .
