Hello,

I tried to find some sort of similar thread here and elsewhere in the information tempest, but I did not encounter anything remotely similar to my situation. Essentially what is happening, is in Windows 7, when I open a new window, and it usually happens when i open an instance of explorer, like my computer, or a folder or something similar, it opens on the bottom of my desktop, ie, underneath my current task, if there are any maximized.

This does not happen all the time, but when it is happening, it happens consistently, and I cant seem to determine what makes it happen, and what if anything makes it cease to happen.

Any thoughts on its strangeness or if anyone else has experienced this, I'd love to hear about it.

oh, and i use Ultramon, if anyone thinks that might be a contributing factor...though i dont see why, since there are no options or configs. that i can see that would affect this sort of thing.

Thanks

Have you tried to close or uninstall Ultramon?

yea i did that...but it doesnt seem to affect anything...and I am inclined to think that it's not a root cause. New windows media player windows tend to open on the bottom as well...any other thoughts?

Since I had a reason to post on this forum again, I happened across this old thread I made, and I have noticed that this happens only on my windows machines, and not on others, and I have since believed that the root of the cause has something to do with the .iso I used to install windows on multiple machines :)
