Hi,

I've been reading on this topic for days now and not getting anywhere.

I have SoundMax and want only voice communication to go to my headset at *all times*. Everything else I want going to my external speakers at *all times*.

I'd like to not have to plug and unplug the 3.5mm jacks each time.

I've read up and saw that installing the latest Realtek drivers would solve the issue but it hasn't gotten me anywhere and now after finding this website today and registering I see that Realtek is a major problem spot.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction here?

Thanks.

p.s. system specs are updated.

Maybe your voice comm software is not being recognized as a voice comm software, and thus not being redirected. I know Skype has audio out settings where you can set where to ring, play and listen, but I have no idea about Voipwise.

It looks to me like having the Bose speakers as defaul playback rather than the Realtek is one problem.
Also the built in Windows Sound Recorder, according to the help file for the Sound Recorder will only record from a "line in" or "mic" input.

Try recording with a "regular" recording program such as the free Audacity program, which will record from the Stereo Mix/System Mixer. A program such as Audacity is normally what is used for recording streaming audio.

Audacity Program

Had I known this when you posted on the Dell forum, it would have made a difference.

Dell forum?

I don't have a Dell and most certainly didn't post in a Dell forum on purpose.

I'll give Audacity a shot and post my results later.
