Since such things can alway be reinstalled, until this problem source is located, please uninstall:
all apple software,
all bonjour software
all torrent software
all itunes software
all quicktime software
all browsers except for the one you use.

Reboot your computer.

Problem gone?

Please, please read this tutorial rather than just plunge ahead.

I like to be able to know precisely what has been done.

If you don't get a positive response from SFC then reboot and run again.

If you get a positive response, then reboot.

Firefox still up to it's same old tricks. Hogging the whole CPU, as well as all the other programs doing it randomly as well.

There are a couple of us having problems with firefox hogging things and temporarily hanging. Latest FF version is buggy.

I even tried Chrome to get around the problem but chrome doesn't have many of the features that ff has. IE likes to drown my in ads. With FF I can easily block the ads and using noscript block many of the third-party sites and cookies.

Sure hope firefox fixes this problem soon.

So latest update. The scan has said "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations". I'm going to use option 3 TIP box and see how that goes.

Tryed the below command was given : FINDSTR: Cannot open *myname/Desktop/sfcdetails.txt

I might add though, I have tried Chrome and I have the same problem with it too. I don't think it's a firefox problem as Chrome does the same intensive usage. Definitely something serious going on inside here haha.

Download System Sweeper (about 576 kB):

Insert 256 MB or larger USB stick into a usb port.
Run the downloaded program--mssstool64.exe or mssstool32.exe
Choose the option to install to USB.
Caution: The install program will format the usb stick.

The install program will download about 200 mB more.
After the install is finished, leave the stick in the usb slot.

Run the program you downloaded once again.
This 2nd run, and any subsequent runs, will download the very latest anti-virus definitions (about 60 mB).

To keep System Sweeper up-to-date, simply reinsert the usb stick and run the installation program, mssstool64.exe or mssstool32.exe, again.

The initial, full scan by System Sweeper can easily take several hours, but subsequent quick scans will be shorter.

Actually, the scan is now running from ram, but what's important is that it is running.

After doing the virus scan etc.. which is a good idea.

It appears from one of your screenshots that what's using CPU is
mscorsvw.exe being used by the .NET Runtime Optimization Service
The root cause may not be your Browser.

I understand high usage can be normal from time to time but running at low priority. But if not..........

If you decide to uninstall iTunes then the uninstall procedure can be important as I found out uninstalling one for my son.

Okay so! After running the scan twice I have gotten the log file and looked at it but I don't know what it means. I will attach it. I will also check that out 50% cpu link right now as well.

I've got to be honest with you.

I can not trust the log file you posted because it has been altered.


Run the scan again and next time include both log files with your post.
