ALT-TAB problem.

Hello, I've recently been having this problem that when i Alt-tab out of an application (usually a game) I cannot alt-tab back in or even just click the program to resume it. If I click on the application about 100 times, then it finally lets me in (Its very strange). Every application is responding when this happens, they just won't open back up. It seems the only thing these programs have in common is that they all go to full screen mode and they are usually video games. There are some video games where i don't have this problem at all, but others are so annoying when multitasking because It takes forever to get them to go back into full screen. I have a custom built gaming pc, so its not a lag type problem that it takes forever to maximize. Anyways, I would appreciate any help on this topic and just ask if you need any more info to help.

AMD Phenom II x 4 955 processor 3.2 GHz
8.00 GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia gtx 470 fermi OC'd
64 bit, windows 7

hi i have the same problem sometimes, what i do is simply press CTRL+SHIFT+Esc and then find the game or program select it and then press switch to. If anyone has some ideas please lets us know.

Could be because all system resources are being used. I have found this to happen with games that take a lot of sys resources. That is when I played games.

I've tried the switch to option. Doesn't work for me. I have a pretty beefy pc so I'm somewhat confident my resources are not all taken. (This problem usually happens during league of legends, which is not graphically demanding for my pc at all.) thanks for the answers tho.

Okay.. Things weirdly changed. The programs usually aren't responding now when i have the problem. The switch to option has been working lately. Its something to do with windows thinking the programs aren't responding so it doesn't allow them to reopen. Any more help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

any help? I've tried to look for similar problems but none of them seem to be similar. It only happens with DX9 games i think, or at least older ones. I've tried updating graphics card drivers. This is a very weird, and annoying problem, and help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Some information again, I alt-tab, then the games do not resume, the only way to get back into the game is in task manager. The program says it isn't responding, even tho it is.
