hey guys

some of you might know the program "Deep Freeze", it's a program which allows you to keep your system "frozen" or "unfrozen". I searched on Google but couldn't find anything useful.

Faronics Deep Freeze makes computer configurations indestructible and prevents against unwanted workstation changes—regardless of whether they are accidental or malicious. Deep Freeze is proven to reduce helpdesk support incidents and allows IT personnel to focus on more strategic IT needs.
(-) Reduce Support Costs

With its reboot to restore technology, Faronics Deep Freeze offers the strongest protection available and eliminates the need for IT professionals to reconfigure, re-image, or troubleshoot computers, reducing support incidents by up to 63%.
"Trinity Valley Community College has four campuses with nearly 550 lab computers, and every campus runs Faronics Deep Freeze on their lab computers. In fact, any of the computer labs that fall under our care must have Faronics Deep Freeze installed. Our computer technicians love it; it's the only way they can manage the labs in addition to the user computers. Deep Freeze seriously reduces the number of support calls we receive. The lab monitors have learned they can reboot and fix 99% of the issues. We absolutely love Deep Freeze and cannot imagine running our labs without it."

is there a worthy alternative to Deep Freeze, because I am in need of something similar without having to reboot the system everytime I want to "unfreeze" or "freeze" the system.

thanks in advance

Here are a few alternative products I've found that have similar function and features:

I'll also include a couple of sites that offer a range of alternative options:
alternativeTo.net | Wikipedia

I would definitely recommend alternativeTo.net if you would like programs with similar functions. Also, RollbackRx is in my opinion (as well as a number of other users), very good.

Hi the best alternative to deep freeze (and even better program in my opinion) is Shadow Defender - the easiest PC/laptop security and privacy protection tool
Try it out and you won't be disappointed.

Shadow protect that has been posted by JaidynM is a backup application, not the one like deep freeze, where after reboot all changes are discarded.

Rollback is like windows built in system restore, with added options and functionality.

I'll try the programs you suggested and will post my thought here. Thanks alot!

I'm using Deep Freeze at work, I need to take care of the helpdesk like answering the phone, reinstall Windows (using Acronis True Image) and was really in need of an alternative that doesn't require a reboot.

thanks again ;)

I have used a virtualization software named Hopedot VOS. I think it is the exact alternative you are looking for. Using Hopedot VOS, you can create a safe virtual environment and you don't have to freeze the real system. You can manage the virtual system and the real system simultaneously. It's very convenient to use. I'm waiting Hopedot VOS 64 bits compatible version released in October.
