I'm sure this is unlikely but let me ask you guys.

I'm selling my guitars, amp and pedals and will have $500-$600USD to spend, what laptop would you buy?

I'm partial to gateway because I can get the reinstall DVD's from them.

I want it to have:

HDMI
number pad on right
modem
DVD writer
4 USB ports
card reader
ethernet connection
at least dual 2.2ghz cpu

AND ability to upgrade to windows 7 for free

I know I'm dreaming:party: or should I use the money for food

thanks
~Carmine

Noooooo, don´t spend that money on food..!

Buy something nice for your girlfriend or wife. If you don´t have them use the money to subscribe to a dating site and go date man, its summer...

HI carmine. I do not think you are wasting your money. 5-600 dollars for a laptop that can do all that is pretty cheap. I am and always have been partial to Lenovo products, even when IBM owned it.

Lenovo - Laptop computers - IdeaPad

You would have to drill down and see if it comes with an HDMI. I think everything else you listed is pretty standard.

Here are the Y-Series, which are more geared for home entertainment.

Yeah, but then you have to do BootCamp and stuff. You can build a comporable PC for half that. Don't waste the money.

They have great laptops (I have one), though it may be above your budget. Also, they are built off of MSI barebones, so you could always grab one of those. They should be fairly cheap.
