Ambient Light Sensor Not Working

Hey members,

After a clean installed of my Sony Viao S Laptop, I have noticed that my ambient light sensor is not working.

I can rule out that it is not my keyboard's backlight not working as I can permanently leave it on, but as soon as I set it as turns on in a dark room, it doesn't work..

Any help? I am stumped..

I think it has something to do with the Program Data from HDD or the registry..

And I know it is not my keyboard's backlight or ambient light sensor not functioning as I replaced my keyboard with my friend's as he has the same laptop but same situation. When I put my keyboard on his laptop, it works perfectly.

So it has something to do with the settings.

I would check Sony's site again for missing drivers or applications.

Windows 7 has no native software that controls light sensors.

I would look for you but you didn't supply the model number.

I tried reinstalling and restarting after each install when I fresh installed my laptop last month.

My model is SVS13A190S.

I looked at the available drivers/applications and was unable to determine which might control the sensor.

I would contact Sony support and ask them.
