is there a tutorial on how to safely overclock a gpu? Im using a ati radeon hd4550 and trying to get the best gaming graphics possible safley ty for ur help:geek:

Though for overclocking for me i used CCC since it lets you test the clocks before setting them. As for safety the safest way you do it is going little by little and keep a look at your temperatures and do some stability testing. Most advice i can give, remember if something goes wrong don't blame me, not trying to discourage but just stating facts.

You could try the Autotune feature in the Catalyst control center.

A third party utility may give you a wider adjustment range. One is MSI's Afterburner:

(It also works for non-MSI cards.) I think it's unlikely that you'd damage the card by raising the clocks, but if the 4550 allows upping the GPU core voltage through software, that's probably more dangerous.

You're not gonna get 6970 performance from a 4550, but you ought to be able to goose it up a little.
