AMD Catalyst driver question

Hello all,

I have been wondering about this for quite some time, but never could figure it out. You see, device manager does not display the correct driver date for the Catalyst drivers, even though the correct driver version is displayed.

For example, the driver date on the Catalyst website says "1/25/2012", but device manager on my pc says "12/5/2011" for the exact same driver.

Why is this happening? I know it's not negatively affecting me in anyway but I still want to know why it does this. Thanks for your help.

The Catalyst date is the date that the suite was released. The driver date is the date the drive file(s) were finished and sent to Microsoft for WHQL testing, which is why there is up to a month's difference between the two.
