Solved AMD driver problem has resurfaced.

I have an HP P6-2203a computer with a A8-5500 APU with integrated Radeon HD7650 and HD7460 graphics card. I recently (about a week ago) had to re-install win 7 64 bit because the graphics drivers had failed somehow and would hang at start-up on win 7 and in safe-mode straight after the files had loaded? Everything has been fine until a few minutes ago Firefox crashed and I got a message on the bottom right corner of my screen that an AMD driver had failed? What can I do about this?

Did you get the drivers from the HP website? The wrong driver pack can cause a problem. With an OEM computer, it's best to get the drivers at the manufacturer's website.

Also, has Windows recently installed a graphics driver update? That might not be an "HP approved" driver. It might be a generic AMD driver.

Have you scanned for malware recently?

I think I might have panicked from Firefox crashing because it hasn't happened since? I have HP support on my computer and when I re-installed win 7 it loaded all the OEM drivers automatically. I have scanned with Malwarebytes trial version,it didn't find anything.I realize now that I had downloaded the graphics driver from the wrong site previously (AMD)and that has been the cause of my problems. I wish they could have mentioned that I had to download it from the manufacturers site (HP)and saved me all this trouble! How is anyone supposed to know that? Thanks for taking the time to help me its appreciated.

Yeah. Unfortunately, that's one of the things that most people have to find out by trial and error, and it can cause much frustration. All it would take is for the AMD website to have a little dialog box saying that you're better off getting the drivers from your manufacturer if you have an OEM PC.

We try to tell people here about OEM drivers, but sadly, not everyone sees it in time. Sorry about your problem.

I'm pretty sure its OK now,I had been busy deleting all the bloatware with Revo un-installer and that might have caused Firefox to crash that one time? My computer seems to be working great now.

I just emailed AMD and asked them to at least mention the fact in their driver update prompt.
