So i have no idea what this is about, i have reinstalled for 3 times now and everytime i install the AMD Drivers my PC just boots to a background without explorer on the desktop and when i press CTRL ALT DEL i get a black screen. Very weird, never encountered something like this and i don't know what to do. Guess i can install updates and try installing/repairing .NET or something but does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

EDIT - Whoa okay, appareantly my videocard is not detected O.o, does that mean it's broken? Should I send it back?

could be a number of things

check power to the cables

check if it is in the slot all the way

those are things that would do that also check if you have onboard graphics interfering with your card

If your video card is not detected it could be a faulty card or your drivers aren't set up properly. What card do you have?

Yeah i did IT myself, i've checked and i'm sure i didn't move the computer or anything i didn't touch the hardware inside before i reinstalled it so everything is in place.

If your video card is not detected it could be a faulty card or your drivers aren't set up properly. What card do you have?

Sapphire 7950 OC

Do you have any errors or other(unknown) devices in Device Manager ?

It simply does not show up in device manager.

Thing is i ran everything perfectly on my previous windows enterprise, but the key has been disabled so i not only had to reinstall the professiona one because i ****ed up some user account stuff in regedit and whatnot but also because it wasn't genuine anymore. Anyway, between switching from OS versions i didn't do anything intresting. I guess the videocard is just toast... will try to put it in a friends computer asap and see if it detects it to make sure it's no the motherboard.

Can you try using the GPU in a different motherboard slot, or just re-seat the card in the current slot?
Testing the GPU in another PC is a good idea if that's easier.

Looks like your MB has 2 GPU slots.
The Blue slot is the primary, and should work best with 1 GPU.
The Black slot is for a 2nd GPU.

An LGA1156 socket is not the latest generation, that's why I ask...

Okay so nevermind i fixed it.

I used CCleaner and found some things that said "Missing Shared DLL's" and so on so i backed up the registry and used the program to fix it. I also installed .NET Framework 4.5, I don't know what did it but it worked =p

And here i was almost sending the card back to where i bought it from lal.

Is this a P7P55D? If so according to ASUS that second PCIe slot is only a PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (@x4 mode, 2.5GT/s). I'd put the card back in the first slot. Standard VGA Adapter is what is displayed when the system doesn't know what the card is and the official drivers are not installed. It indicates that Windows is using the standard generic basic built in drivers. What drivers have you tried and where did you download them from?
