LAPTOP is for HARD SURFACES, you mentioned that you used a pillow that's why the GPU overheated then died because the air ventilation is blocked.

Again, PUT YOUR LAPTOPS on a HARD SURFACE like TABLES, CHAIRS and do not put it on your Bed, Pillow, Sofa!!!!

At my last post, I was running it disassembled, no thermal paste. Figured that since it's working fine now, I'm just gonna reassemble it and put it away for a while till I have the time to buy a thermal paste. Turned it on again to see if it's still working as hoped before I went out to buy some, aaaand ot's back to black screen x.x clicked the power button, HD works, fan works. Click the power button once and shuts off (not a good sign normally I hold it down for 3 secs or more to shut it down). Just an update. On my way to buy some paste. Hopefully it's just nothing. Really appreciate the time you're putting to help me out Icit Thanks.

Oh crikey I hope you didn't run it too long with nothing on it Zena no surer way of really killing the thing.

Yep mate I think I gave Zena a short sharp lesson in that one and I think she is probably feeling a bit ermmm embarrassed about it but hey let them who live in glass houses eh? We have all been there and done some pretty dumb things.
