AMD x6 or i5-750?

I plan on purchasing a computer with one of the processors in the thread title, however, I do not know which processor will perform better. I will NOT overclock either processor.

On the Intel side, just to confuse matters, you should consider a Socket 1156 CPU that supports hyperthreading. The I5 750 does not.

That won't help gaming performance at all, but if you use any multithreaded applications, it will improve things.

I have an i5-750, and it does everything I need it too, even with Photoshop and some other intense applications. I would definitely recommend it over the AMD offering.

I'd recommend Intel over AMD any time.

In fact go for i7 if you can afford it.
