Sorry Amber, same as your "what is the best browser" question, except AV programs can be tested for their abilities. But I think you will find that there are 4 free AV mentioned most commonly. AVG, Avira, Avast and MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials). I personally use Avast. I have avira as a 2nd, on demand scanner (deselect Active Guard when installing). Never used AVG, but many like it. MSE has garnered good reviews, and many like it. None are perfect, but all have good detection rates. A Guy
