I'm converting four mp4 files, less than 400 mb each. Using DVD videosoft free studio. It shows the combined file size at nearly 4 Gigs? It tells Nero the file size is four Gigs. I think I should be able to fit more on a disk?
No response from Videosoft or Nero as to the conflict. I'm just curious. thanks!

So you are converting 1.6GB. Depending on the new filetype, that can result in a lot more - e.g. if you were converting to WAV, it could be up to 10 times the original size. On the other side it could be less - e.g. to FLV.

I'm converting to a regular DVD format (Video_TS) I guess after dropping the files in the program, its telling me what the size will be? sorry for being such a newbie.

I've never used that software, but yes, I'd expect that's what it's telling you--the defaults for the format you've chosen.
There may be some choices in the software that allow you to have some degree of control. In my experience, you have to experiment and maybe waste a few conversions while you learn more about the adjustments you can make.
