A while back I bought a Kindle Fire, rooted it with BurritoRoot, and put the Android Market on it (with Go Launcher Ex as a launcher because its amazing). I always wanted an e-book reader, and an Android tablet and this took care of both. After having the Kindle Fire for a while, I thought it'd be cool if my phone could do the stuff it does. So, I ended up buying a Samsung Infuse 4G. I had some issues with the rooting process on Windows, so I booted into Linux and it went much smoother. TBH, I've always had issues with Windows and USB devices, and Windows 7 hasn't been any better for me. I'm seriously considering switching to Linux as my primary OS because of recent experiences. Plus, I'd save money on software licensing.

Also, if I could change my username I'd probably go with either Droid Rage, or LinuX11

Like you said, the beauty of Linux is
1). free licensing
2). learning something new and increasing your knowledge
3). open design..so if you don't like something you can simply change it yourself.

While I cannot eliminate my personal use of Windows...and really don't want to, I only run Windows on a few computers and run more Linux overall.
