Android emulator that doesn't keep promoting games?

A friend persuaded me to try playing (free) games in Bluestacks. It worked okay and some of the games are good. However, Bluestacks keeps pushing other games on you, to the extent that it's quicker to shut down BS and restart, rather than wait for yet another sample game to be demoed.

I note there are many other Android emulators available - any recommendations?

I've been meaning to give Blustacks a try myself. But if it's like that then forgetaboutit.

I did run Android in VMware, but it was a bit of a process. Android is just an OS that runs on an ARM CPU. You could run it on a Raspberry Pi.

Here it is for x86 and the older versions plus the alternative Android OS of Lineage. Android x86 Virtual Machine images for VMware and VirtualBox

Thanks. There are apparently quite a few Android emulators to be had but I was hoping to find someone who'd used and could recommend one.
