I'm getting the same random "Windows Explorer" clicking noise described below on my new Windows 7 HP laptop.
Sounds like a quiet, Windows Explorer clicking noise in the background with no discernible pattern.
I tried all the Control Panel tweaks suggested in prior thread but (like the prior poster) nothing has worked.
I also have listened to libraries of problem hard drive noises online but the noise sounds nothing like a mechanical problem. It sounds exactly like a very quiet Windows Explorer click.
Any advice is appreciated, but all things considered I'd prefer good advice.
Thanks!
