annoying note pad popup at log on

Hi All
this is my first post so please be gentle

i have tried most of the w7 builds so far 7000 7022 7048 with no problems at all
downloaded and installed 7057 last night (fresh install)
all looks good except every time i boot/logon there is a open txt file on the desktop
the text has something about the shell version in it (cant be more specific as i am at work at the moment and not in front of the machine)

has anyone else encountered this minor annoyance ?
and how do you get rid of it ?
