So i get these BSOD after switching VGA.But also sometimes the system totally freezes with the sound making a continous buzz and not able to BSOD,i have to reset.
I have cleaned up old drivers, with safe mode driver fusion and installed 13.11 catalyst.
I used to get freezes but NO BSODs with my older cards,i though it was memory compatibility, and i had fixed it.But now i get both freezes and these BSODs.

What i tried so far with no luck:

1.Sfc scannow,no problems
2.8 hours memtest86+,no errors
3.Driver verifier for one day,no result, same BSOD/freezes but no report about bad driver
4.Swapping memory,i currently have 2 GB,after removing another 2GB,i have tried different combinations on slots/sticks.Sometimes i might get more time without BSOD/freeze,like a day or two, other times i get BSOD/freeze on few hours.

The BSODs AND freezes only happen while intensive gaming.Sometimes when i tried some memory configurations,i got freezes while browsing/internet/video but NO BSOD.

So far my suspects :
-Motherboard memory compatibility. My number 1 suspect, but i have not found a consistent result.Like i said few months ago, i was getting freezes, and by trying some settings in bios (ddr2 to 667 mhz,and VBNSB voltage) i had solved them. Now their back along with BSODs.
-Bad memory sticks.Memtesting plus trying them on other computers, tells me this is unlikely. However i will try a few more combinations/settings to see.
-VGA driver.I think the BSODs are possibly from drivers, but they have been clean installed, and i can do nothing about that.
-Faulty motherboard/CPU/memory controller/VGA.Well i hope not.Except the VGA i dont have a way to test these, and i have no way to change any of the rest.

Hi GranTurismo. Do these things according to order.

Update Your Keyboard/Mouse drivers from Logitech Support - Downloads, Manuals, FAQs & More.

Free up the startup. Its a must for you. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Uninstall the display driver using AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility . Then download and install the latest WHQL only.

Uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials and then install a fresh downloaded copy ...... perhaps it is needed.

Hi Arc,
i did stopped some services from starting up,although that would speed up my boot, not expect it to stop the BSODs.
Also,i downloaded latest Logitech drivers, not that i had problem with setpoint though so far.

As for the 13.9 WHQL catalyst drivers,i was using them before changing to 13.11 and it was much worse:
More often BSODs and also the computer would hang up during restarts through windows button (had to press restart button of the tower case).

In that case, use 13.4 WHQL, which is really good and stable.

Then, after applying that driver, it it crashes again, let us see the dumps. ATM we are trying to minimize the visible issues, and hopefully it will lead us to the main one.
