To compete against Apple's iPad, Asustek has strengthened the Eee Pad's industrial design and has cooperated with Google to adopt its Android platform. Asustek will also add features that iPad currently does not support such as USB, integrated webcam, and Adobe Flash, Shih noted.

I will definitely be watching for this product and it's early reviews. It sounds good but I am a skeptic.

Josh, could you use black writing. I can hardly read what you post in this pale blue. I always have to copy your postings into a Wordpad to be able to decypher them. At age 72, the eyes are getting weak. Thanks.

Exactly - the case is relatively small and light weight, and there is no discrete keyboard or mouse. The human interface is through touch on the screen. I now have two machines at home that are of that general kind, though neither are true pads. One is a netbook that is a tablet convertible with a single-touch screen, and the other is an All-In-One with a 20" optical multi-touch screen. Though the All-In-One is too heavy to hold in my hand, the interface is the same as a pad, just really big. My tablet convertible is functionally a pad in that it is fairly small, light enough, wireless and has a good battery life. The Windows 7 multi-touch interface is fun. The single-touch interface is just a mouse by touch.

Bye.
