Anti-static component pad

In addition to a server, I use internal sata drives externally as offline backups. I use a front sata panel to attach the drives, as can be seen here:

However, placing them on my desk surface is somewhat precarious, as the surface is hard and provides no ESD protection.

To the question: I'm looking for some sort of mat or pad, aproximately 12"x12" (give or take) that will absorb impact and protect against static electricity. I would think these would be fairly common, but apparently not.

Any ideas?

Found some in England for £10 on AdvanceTec. Guess they're not any good for you if you're not in England, but will give you an idea of what to look for.
