To the question: I'm looking for some sort of mat or pad, aproximately 12"x12" (give or take) that will absorb impact and protect against static electricity. I would think these would be fairly common, but apparently not.
Found some in England for £10 on AdvanceTec. Guess they're not any good for you if you're not in England, but will give you an idea of what to look for.
