Ive not had those problems as I run it manually as an on demand scanner, and with the price of memory, that isnt an issue imho....

I use MSE, spybot (not resident), spyware terminator (not resident), SuperAntiSpyware (not resident) and winpatrol.

I really do not know why people espouse the virtues of Malwarebytes as Ive used it for a year or so and its not found a single item apart from that microsoft false one.

For example it helped this user: http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/62226-whats-i-cant-delete.html

I used Norton, I used Hitman Pro and Malwarebytes for a long time.
They haven't found anything except the False Positives and the ones I expected them to find (test files) and only tracking cookies.
Should I get rid all of them? :sarc:

The fact that one is not getting infected and so nothing is detecten on his system doesn't always mean that AntiVirus or AntiMalware programs aren't working...

Did your other programs detect anything that was missed by Malwarebytes? For many users it was other way round. Malwarebytes detected malwares that was missed by many other scanners. That's why community usually recommends it as on-demand and rescue scanner. It has proven community experience.
I am not saying that it is the best scanner, but it's not rubbish aswell. It has enough detection rate to atleast recommend other people.

If person feels comfortable with only AV product, he doesn't need to install Malwarebytes AntiMalware or anything like this. It's just personal preference.
And this was just my views why people espouse the virtues Malwarebytes. Just because of community expeince of it on malware removal. And actually because they are really integrated with comunity, as far as I know most of their staff worked their way to the company through Support forums. That's the second reason why they have high community reputation :p

A-sqaured combines it's own Malware engine with Ikarus Anti Virus engine and Mamutu Behaviour Blocker.
So it creates really powerful scanner, I will recommend it.
But it's also known for a few False positives.

First link is A-sqaured AntiMalware which has real time protection, so don't use it with any other real time AV products. As A-Sqaured Anti Malware gives you AV protection aswell.

Second link is almost the same product but without real-time protection and Behaviour Blocker. So it is great choice as an on-demand scanner and can be used with real time AV products.

Should i use IObit360 or Ad-Aware
Which is the best?

IObit360 used to have great detection rate.
But then it came up that they were stealing Malwarebytes database and that's why they had great detection rate.
After some scandals it deleted Malwarebytes signatures from his database, so unfortunately now it's back to the mediocre detection rate. :(
in my opinion Iobit360 mostl built it's reputation while it had that good detection rate..

Adware, I think you mean from Lavasoft.
It used to be nice product a few years ago. But now all I hear about it that it's bloated and poor..

But all this conserining both Adware and IObit is purely my personal opinion and view. And I may be wrong and they may be really great products..
It was just my opinion on them.. ;)

While iobit makes good programs for windows optimization, (BTW THEIR GAME BOOSTER IS AWESOME AND FREE!!!) they, like auslogics, are simply new in the security world.

And I just wanna ask this......what in world is a-squared??? I never heard of it...

edit: I read some reviews. It seems as if a-squared has good detection and speed but substantially slow updates, takes ~40 ~ 60 mb of ram, and lacks a built in scheduler, also has history of false poitives.
(just wanted to put that out there....no offense ...)

Yes, spybot found a dozen or so, and superantispyware found 47 items. And thats after running MBM.

Now, this might be a dissenting opinion, but ... I basically don't use any anti-spyware/malware products on a regular basis :sarc:. I am using ESET Smart Security - but it hardly catches anything, at least not on my Windows 7 machine. I think I have Spybot, but I don't remember when was the last time I used it.

OK, enough of that, what's my idea of security? A good router with hardware firewall !!!!! That's 99%. Plus, prudent web surfing, plus turning that router off when I am not using the web! Oh, and in addition, turning off all unnecessary Windows network features such as NetBIOS, Remote Desktop, Remote Registry, messenger, etc. My ESET is programmed to block internet access for everything that does not really need it (why would a pdf reader want to go online every time I run it? beats me). My Firefox erases all cookies when I close it except for a few that are really necessary. And voila - no infections, no malware, no wasting time or resources. And finally, when I go to bed I turn everything off (unless I need something done overnight) - saves me some electricity as well.

jav: "First link is A-sqaured AntiMalware which has real time protection, so don't use it with any other real time AV products."

not correct, a-squared works very well together with other antivirus-programs.

i suggest you take a good look at the F.A.Q. at Emsisoft´s support pages.

about "false positives": as with many other antivirus-programs you can use different settings, fx. "Intelligent alert reduction" & "Paranoid mode" which can give you less or more FP´s.

the same goes for Avira, if you set the heuristic detection to max, you might get some more FP´s.....

Richter: "edit: I read some reviews. It seems as if a-squared has good detection and speed but substantially slow updates, takes ~40 ~ 60 mb of ram, and lacks a built in scheduler, also has history of false poitives."

not correct, a-squared uses less than 1 MB with realtime protection working in the background, although it might change a bit, right now it´s372kB + 488kB, but it stays under 1MB.

"scheduler" ?
oh yes, you can set a2 to update regularly, as often as every hour if you like, and of course also to scan at regular intervals.

Hackerman, ill download it right now and report back to you. However, less than 1 mb of ram is unthinkable...If it were true, id be amazed but Im almost 99 percent sure its not true.
Edit; HACKERMAN, that program takes AT LEAST 100 MB OF Ram??!?!
As you can see from the picture.....
You have to check the "show all processes" to reveal the REAL ram usage....
Not only that....it installs a service into the automatic start...
It also doesn't configure the security center correctly..
Can you post your task manager picture??

no, a2 might use up to 100-120 MB while scanning, but as i said: below 1Mb with realtime protection working in the background....

i´m running taskmanager as admin and of course i have selected to show all processes.

those numbers ARE correct, confirmed by Emsisoft, read the thread "a2 uses 620kB"...

I wasn't scanning or anything...? do you want me to prove it?? If it truely were scanning, the CPU usage would spike up as well. Since its using 0 cpu, its not scanning >.>
Anyways, go to your msconfig and see your non-microsoft services. It creates a service and a service DEFINITELY takes more memory than 620 kb...

Well....since emisisoft made the software themselves, I can't expect them to be biased can I? :p
Im just saying, that is simply not what im seeing...From what I can tell, A2 uses two times more memory than MSE. Is it okay if you can show your task manager with the same processes that I had? (the service process and the ui process for A2)
