Antivirus that runs when I want it to. Ondamand no background service.

Panda is lighter than avast, but try both and see what you like better.

My opinion is just that, my opinion. There is no best antivirus, only what is best for you. Now if you keep constantly getting infected, thats another story.....;)

If you like options and settings and like to tweak, avast is a better option. I look highly into the av comparatives websites as well as other av testing websites. If they score less than 90% detected threats I drop them. Because in this day and age antivirus isn't enough, so you better have a AV that can at least have a good score on what it should detect.

Thanks I don't want to conflict/unistall advast so I will just be trying panda on a different computer.

Tried Panda for alittle while(Didn't have time to look at it for that long) But out of curiosity does panda have to ability to detect rootkits? I didn't see that option anywhere. Thanks

Yes. Panda can detect-general malware, some rootkits (I will admit malwarebytes is better in this aspect), viruses, pups-potentially unwanted programs(disabled by default, you must in settings tell it to detect pups) and spyware are categories that are/can be detected. Just like a typical AV.
