7 isnt very old or new, but I wanted to know if there were any helpful threads to adjust settings (logon screen, sidebars, ect....) I have found a few site via search engines, but I dont know enough about 7 to venture into all that jazz. SO what I'm tryin to ask is there any tip for n00bs out there?

And in that above recommended customization section of this forum, I further recommend checking out the custom wallpaper thread. There are some fabulous wallpapers there made by very talented members of this forum available for download.

I just got a new external monitor for my laptop today and now that for the first time, I can see them as they should be seen, I'm even more blown away by how great many of those wallpapers are.

To make use of them just open the wallpapers you see that you like and download them. Then to actually use them as wallpapers, right click on an empty part of the desktop, select "personalize," "desktop background," and then browse to the location where you saved the custom wallpapers and select some to try them out. Make sure you set the "picture postition" to "fill." And have some fun with it.

yes, i know, I found windows 7 by accident, and when it comes to modding an OS i am very wary of it, dont want to jack anything up and have to reinstall everything over and over again.

Yeah I got a good back groud and taskbar color. just cant figure out how to change the color of the drag box that u create when u drag your mouse

Oddly enough, HyperLink color changes that.

ahh...tat is what I remember reading about. I also thought to myself that it was pretty funny that those two different things are connected that way

Yes, odd.

Probably due to SuperFetch, ReadyBoost, Start Menu, TaskBar, HomeGroups, IE8, Device Staging and Aero being a total fail. Or am I just Spazzing? :sarc:

OP: I am just kidding.

Well I have a question. Is there any way to get rid of the pulsing bolt of light that pulses through the green download or file transfer progress bar at regular fixed intervals?

I don't want to disable other aero features though. Just that one which I find annoying because it has nothing to do with the actual speed or progress or the download or file transfer.
