Hi All

I've been using Paragon 2011 for about 4 weeks now.I initially made a full image of "sys res" and my "windows" partition and then set a scheduled differential backup to run every Monday which it has been doing.
Today I thought I would make a full new backup and start the process again but when I look in the previous backup folder I only have one differential backup folder. It seems it has been overwriting the old differentials with the new ones.I expected to have four.
How can I stop the differentials from overwriting each other

Thankyou Danny

Re-name the folder, call it diff1 & so on.

I never do increMENTAL backups, they tend to cause more trouble than their usefulness states. I decide what I back up, put it in its own folder with a few notes of its content, then if its required for a restore, I know exactly what I'm getting. My backups are usually done in under 8 minutes.

Is there no way to automate the process though. No point in scheduling backups if you have to go in and change file names.

That seems logical but again if you run from a schedule it overwrites the previous image.
Cant work this software out even after 4 weeks.
I have found one work around but its a pain.If I schedule a backup say for monday then another separate backup for tuesday and so on they dont overwrite as there given different names,But in theory for my needs I would need 365 schedules for a back up each day.NOT IDEAL LOL. Ive got to be missing some thing here

I use Acronis TIH 2010 and it only does what I want, perfectly.
My backups are all 'System Images'

Danny I am commenting on Paragon Backup & Recovery 2011 (advanced) free-ware edition. To have a good imaging program like this for free I am quite happy to spend 2 mins editing the details in the backup folder on the external. I cannot comment on whether the paid version has the facility you require. Cheers Isaac

I see what your saying its free why am I moaning. If I wanted to spend time changing files names I can use the native imaging program for that, plus there's always the chance you forget to do it. The point im trying to make is if I manually make a full backup on a monday and manually make a diff backup tues-sun they are all saved individually(ie 1 full with 6 separate diffs)which is what I want. Do this on a schedule and all goes to pot as even if you tick the box to name all backups differently it still overwrites the previous image. As you say this may not be the case in the paid version but im not willing to pay for something that may not suit my needs. Think ill have a look at Acronis.

Thanks Danny
