Any reason to use Readyboost on Windows 7 X64 with 8GB?

Figured I'd give it a go, put in my 2BG usb drive and will let that go for a few days. One thing I noticed right away is my kernel times have increased. Where before the readyboost, I'd rarely see kernel times in task manager, now I see them constantly running around 5%

The best advice for Vista, and now Windows 7 is to leave it alone. Don't disable paging or Readyboost. Both are smarter at managing your memory, so don't think of them as you would Windows XP. Different animals, so treat them differently. As mentioned ReadyBoost handles other services as well, such as ReadyBoot, that you always want enabled.

As for enabling Readyboost on a USB drive, unless you have 1 GB or less of system memory, don't bother. You can find many more useful purposes for the USB drive. Once you go above 1 GB, the law of diminishing returns kicks in quickly.
