Any Steam Games Crash

Hello, I'm running Windows 7 build 7000 and whenever i try to launch a steam game, for example Garry's Mod, it crashes. I have tried running as administrator, while using all of the compadilibilty modes and none of it has worked. I have also tried running steam in administrator mode and launching gmod and that has not worked either. I have windows firewall, threatfire, and no adware running as my firewalls/antiviruses.

Any ideas what the problem is? I saw that others are running it just fine.

Same issue

I am having the same issue with Steam games, The Witcher (Enhanced Edition) Everquest 2, and Fallout 3. They play for about 5-10 minutes then lock up or error out. Hellgate London works like a champ though.

I am running Windows 7 x64 and I'm beginning to believe that is where the problem lies. Hellgate London is Dx10 x64 version while all other games are in the 32bit userspace. I'm using an Nvidia 9800GT (Tried with Win7 drivers and NVIDIA drivers - same issue)

Anyone else?

I am running steam on my win7 64 bit system and after installing the nvidia driver to fix the vertical flickering lines it now happily runs Doom3 , CS , wolfenstein , quake , etc

Hi Guys! I am new here just because of this very issue. My newly built beast does very well thru all the benchmark stuff I have - but as soon as I loaded up Everquest 2, my system froze up for the first time. Granted, this IS a Beta - and the GTX 295 I bought is also very very new - but no matter what setting I try, it just freezes almost directly on startup.
Whats strange is that it runs everything else I throw at it perfectly- and - VERY fast.... which surprised me after the EQ2 install to see things freeze... Anyone have any ideas?

HA! Problem.. half solved! I tirned off the SLI in nVidia's setup- and ran on one GPU - and .. it WORKED!

Yes, Insurgency runs fine but Red Orchestra .. no way.

This is on build 7057. It ran fine on build 7000 .. oh well .. /me waits patiently for next build.
