Your anti-virus is now Microsoft Security Essentials which is standing guard. Occasionally it's little green icon will turn orange which tells you its time to run a scan.
The other scanners are for spot-checking for infection if you think you might be infected due to performance deficiencies. Malwarebytes looks for serious stuff while SAS sniffs out spyware and adware.
CCleaner and Puran Defrag are maintenance scans to clean up old files and roganize your disk. I don't do these more than quarterly. You might want to start monthly then if you don't have regular infection or too much to cleanup or defrag you can move to quarterly too, maybe even less like if you have performance problems.
If you have performance problems and its not due to infection then you have plenty of System Restore
points space apportioned, and a backup image of your reinstall stored on your external with a disk to boot to restore it. Keep your files regularly backed up there too.
