Anyone got an iPhone, HTC or a Samsung?

Own any one of the above 3 mobile devices? How is the typing? Does typing fast get easy or does it always remain a challenge?

Im considering one of them but depends on how fast I can type easily and how easily I can browse.

Hello dfs,

I have big hands, so I find typing on small devices to be hard by default.

However, I find that typing on a Samsung Galaxy SII to not be so bad when it's turned horizontally to have the Qwerty onscreen keyboard with bigger buttons. Plus, you could always download a different style onscreen keyboard app to use instead that may better work with you.

Browsing is about the same as any other smartphone as well.

I have a samsung charge. Typing isn't a problem, it's got a big screen and the keyboard expands to it in landscape position. As an aside though, I'll say that opening the battery case on the back (which tech support suggests you do once a week) and re-seating the battery is an exercise in torture (and I'm aware that is not the question you asked, but before you buy it, go try to open and close the back case a few times to make sure you don't have difficulty with it).

I got an Iphone 3GS. Typing on it is OK. Even browsing is OK. The only limitation is the screen size (3.5 inch).

I have an iPod Touch, which is the same screen as the iPhone. Typing isn't that bad in landscape mode, unless you have thick fingers. As rraod says above though, browsing on the screen requires a fair amount of multi-touch motions to zoom in and out.

I've got a Samsung Galaxy Ace, and big fingers, and find the keyboard is ok if I turn the phone on its side so the buttons are a little bit bigger. I can even type with two hands that way.

If you have an android phone and have a lot of typing to do the free MyPhoneExplorer allows pc based text input over USB/WiFi/Bluetooth in it's latest release amongst many other goodies

Have iPhone 3GS and the typing is good well for me at least and still love it

I have an iPhone 4S and typing is ok. with most smartphones you can just speak and have it convert speech to text on a few apps, like text messaging and emailing.
with my phone I can just tell it to do a search for something in plain english and it will google it for me.

Don't have any of those mentioned mines an LG Optimus GT540 and I have the normal keypad type for typing when the phone is in portrait and when I turn the phone into landscape I get the Qwerty keyboard. Both for me are OK as I have predictive text and in a lot of cases I've only got to start typing and I have suggestions as to what the word is so I can just pick which I want without having to finish typing, that way it's seem to be much quicker.
