Anyone knows how to convert icod to avi or wmv?

Hi everyone

I have a file in icod format, which I believe is one of Apple's proprietary video formats just like .mov files, that I want to covert to a Windows video format such as avi or wmv. No matter how I tried or which converting programs I used, nothing worked, and no video player, not Quicktime and not even VLCPlayer could play it properly.

Anyone knows how to do this?

There seems some doubt if this can be done. AVS Video Coverter says it can. This is a paid for converter but it is available on a trial basis. Try downloading from here:

and see if it will take one of your files. If it works then we will know it can be done and can start looking for a freebie converter!

The file's extension is rarely something that matters, so I would ask you to find out which streams are contained within the file. If you're not sure, download MediaInfo which is a great little utility and try to feed it with the file to see which video/audio stream it contains. Based on that, you might only need to remux the streams into a more popular container.
Frankly, this is the first time I've heard of .icod files, but since MediaInfo can read almost anything, you should give it a try.

I never converted icod, but I did convert .mov files with Format Factory - Free media file format converter - it's worth a try.

icod is in fact a codec within a .MOV container.

I thought that, since it's Apple we're talking about, an h264 video stream or something.
