Anyone out there have any history with Asrock Motherboards?

Like the title says, is anyone using them? Are they any good? I noticed a couple of mobos in the Fatality series that looked ok, but I haven't really heard anyone here discuss Asrock boards. I've been using ASUS boards for years with good results, but I'm the curious type.

Opinions?

For what it's worth, I tried two AsRock boards about four years ago, and both ended up with dead PCI slots... one within 30 days, the replacement board after about a year. Other than that, I liked their performance very much.

I like ASRock because they tend to have more mATX boards than others. In terms of reliability, in the last 10 I do not believe any one manufacturer is consistently better or worse than others. And they have all gotten better over time. I do recommend where possible to buy boards that are advertised as heavier duty and/or are for overclocking, as they are pretty likely to last the longest and have some manufacturing overkill in terms of component sturdiness. Though I have not used one, the Fatal1ty series overview reads exactly like what I would want in that regard.

I had an ASRock Z77 "Fatl1ty" motherboard. The first one I got had a memory slot problem and they replaced it under warranty. When I recently upgraded my recording studio system I bought an ASRock Z170 motherboard but sadly it was defective and returned to the seller, and I bought an ASUS Z170 board that works great.

I was thinking the same thing about asrock but most of the reviews of any manufacture seems if lucky 50-50% split in how good or bad they are even the high end asus boards ROG :/
Freaking lottery system do you feel lucky

I currently have a ASRock X79 Extreme11 motherboard.

It's been rock solid for me so far over the last few years.

I think any new motherboard these days is a bit of a lottery, to be honest. I'm on the lookout for a new system soon, and I'm not sure if it will be Kaby lake, Skylake or Ryzen, but I want a good performing motherboard this time, not like the anemic mess I have now. Not that I plan to overclock something that expensive, but a good OCing board might be good because they are more robust.

The Asrock offerings that I saw seemed to offer a good price/performance ratio.
