Came across this for free until the end of November and wondering if anyone has tried it out.

I have it. Decent and I'm o.k. with it. Only used it for a short while so can't give you a comprehensive review. I DO tend to use my "tried and true" software before becoming dependent on my newer stuff. Need to resave all my Red Dwarf series due to ANOTHER Seagate failure and will use this to do that. I'll let you know something more definitive before the week-ends out.

I will go ahead and say that it downloaded, installed, and activated with no problems whatsoever. The U.I. is very "clean" and I REALLY like that. If you've seen my desktop screenshots you know I like "uncluttered" and this fits the bill nicely. Have only converted a few short videos with it so far and it worked fine. Ripping my Red Dwarf DVD's will be the test for me though. I may go ahead and do one or two of them tonight now that you've got me thinking about it. Will let you know for sure, but preliminarily I'd say that this is a keeper.

Thanks Indie just as a matter of course I saved it to downloads until I heard back but if you say it's ok thats good enough for me.

I have several good TV series ones I'd like to make copies of Yep Red Dwarf I haven't seen it for years now and if it is that English series yep very cleverly written.

My own personal favourites are The Sopranos and Breaking Bad just about the cleverest script and screen play I have seen .

"Watch out Earth..... The slimes coming home!" Just finished the first series, ripped to an iso. Worked very well. The picture quality is outstanding. Not the fastest ripper I've ever used but not the slowest either. About 35/45 minutes to rip and convert an approximately 3 hour DVD. Only used 2 of my 4 cores. Big selection of formats but as I only use these kind of programs to back up my movies/series I can only speak for the few I've tried. Nice piece of software , especially for the price . Haven't tried the burner yet but expect it to be just as good as the ripper/converter.

Yep its the English series, and you're very welcome. Those you mentioned are some of mine too, some of the few dramas I watch anymore. My work keeps me from seeing most anything when they are aired the first time so I usually just get the season at the end of the year and watch them through. Anyway, glad I could be of help.

Ive had that software, tbh i thought it was poo.
I had problems with converting and also with licence issues.
I use avs conversion now.
Im at work on my phone so its not easy replying.

No probs Indie just out of interest do you use double layer DVD's when you burn. I have problems with my PVR burning TV programs to a 4.7GB DVD if it is more than say about an hour.

Hum trouble is with a series like Breaking Bad we are so behind you folks an I don't know how to steam stuff or whatever the call it.

Like you I work odd hours so watching anything is difficult so I rely a lot on recordings. Mind you there is a lot of twaddle on lie big brother and two and half men absolute rubbish yet people sit glued to the set eh?

Sometimes I use double layer, mostly for my old film noir stuff as I can usually get two or three or... movies on them. For most other things...(tax records, old permits etc.) I mainly stick with single.

Other programs I use for this kind of thing are DVD Decrypter and the old old standby DVD Shrink. IMG Burn is a given too. I'll usually have at least one other on my machine at any given time sometimes a few more. Between them I have yet to find a DVD I couldn't rip and burn.

I totally agree with you about whats offered by way of "entertainment" on television these days, but as P.T. Barnum said "You'll never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public". Just makes the few shining lights all that much better!

He he I like that frankly a lot of the audience out here watch all sorts of inane tripe some of the English stuff is getting pretty awful too I might add.
