Anyone way to move my old office on Windows 98se to Windows 7? Don't have the cd's. It came with the computer, however they no loner needed office. They couldn't find the installation disk. There is no install files on the computer. I don't even know the key. It was an old computer a business gave to me. I think it has Office 2000 which includes Access.

I have done a clean install of Windows 7 using Dell re-installation disk (Dell sent me one). I also use Free Macrium reflect backup and restore.

Do help about in a office application and you know the version. Most likely the registration key is also there(?)

Office 2000 and office 2003 are not supported anymore.

Office 2000 is not Supported any more ended 2009 .. There are loads of Free Office Programs you would be better of using one of them ..

What wrong with using old software as long as it works? Does Office 2000 not work on Windows 7?

Maxie, I use Access for phone & password list. I tried Open office but could never get it to work like I wanted to. I even tried importing but maybe I am not converting it to the correct format.

Here is a sample of the two database. Not exact though.

Apparently Office 2000 does run on Windows 7. But that isn't the issue.
The real issue, and a serious one, is the lack of install media. Transferring an installed application from one computer to another is very difficult, particularly for large applications like Office. I don't think this is a viable option.

Maxie,
My grammar is some times not correct. I still have access to my old computer. I also have another program that I bought called Microsoft works 7 it also has a database and works with windows7 What is the best format to save Access 2000 data files to work with open office and/or Microsoft works database? Microsoft works 7 also works with windows 10 preview.

Lmiller7,
I know that, It is a pain and most of the time doesn't work. There was a neat zip compression programs I tried with windows 98se, that zip up the programs and there associated dlls. I think that programs went extinct. Do you know if office 2000 runs on linux wine, the one that doesn't need activating, it is not illegal either. I maybe mixing this up with another Microsoft office, there were 2 version 1 needed activation, the other one didn't.
