Looking for a program that is fast and will use all four processors.

High Quality

Works in all DVD-Players

Has Menus

Maybe one that even allows me to queue up videos to be converted so i can convert movies while i'm at work, etc.

You're looking for software that will convert movie files to standalone DVD player-friendly formats (DVD Disc)?

Try DVD Flick. I know for a fact it does two cores, I think it does four as well. No batches, though.

You could also look into getting a copy of Sony Vegas and use the MainConcept plugin. I know it's multi-threaded and can batch.

I would use DVD Flick it works and has good quality, but when I play mine in the DVD player it skips a lot I'm not sure why, if anyone could help me out please post back!

If it's skipping it might be a bad burn. Burn your DVDs on the slowest possible settings to ensure a higher accuracy rate.

If it's skipping it might be a bad burn. Burn your DVDs on the slowest possible settings to ensure a higher accuracy rate.

Now that I think about it I dropped the DVD Down the stairs *LoL* and I had it on the fastest settings. it was taking long. One question can I use the computer as I am burning the DVD or will that affect it?

Not likely. Burning a disc doesn't use much in terms of processor resources but that info is being constantly streamed from the hard drive to a buffer that's holding content to be burned (like a very fast "take a number" system). On the slowest setting, though, you're only looking at a 1.3megs per second.

This page Understanding DVD -Recording Speed has a table that shows the data transfer for each speed for DVDs and CDs.

Give the 1x burn a shot if you can as a test to see if it's your burner. If it works, (I know this'll use a few more discs than normal) but bump up the speed until you have the problem again and notate the next one down as your max speed to author your DVDs with.

I just did the math with that website at 1x speed it seems faster then when I do it at 4x.

1024mb in a gb
1024/1.32=775.75*4=3103.030/60=51mins

When I burn a avi to DVD it takes like 3-4 hours with DVD Flick

I never could understand why they create 24x burners, if you get better burns at 4x.

True, but even when I burn at 4x it still skips when I play on the DVD player. I am trying to burn at 1x right now to see if it helps at all but I am going to keep trying till I get something to work right.

Well i settled with WinAVI AIO Converter. Fast. Simple.

Since i already had ConvertXtoDVD, i use this to burn the converted files. Still keeps the personal menu created from WinAVI
