I could be wrong but we should wait for confirmation.

LOL, I did it once with a joomla package, took nearly an hour and a half and i had to split it up because the host had a file size restriction

How are you uploading the files? FTP or the hosts file manager?

Not sure if you can upload the zip and unzip it in htdocs.

Enter your Domain (the one you just got) and park it on the domain byethost created for you (should only be one) then click add parked domain.

After that you should see your named servers, enter these where you got your domain name from.

Here is what i use, yours should be the same:

What is asking you to change your home path?

Never mind.
It is up and running. :D

I think it takes 72 hours after changing the "name server" for domain name to kick in.

And the name servers for addon Domain and the parked domain are the same right??

Well done! ;)

Took my domain name about 8 hours to propagate, just keep checking, you can still use the one byethost set up.

Name Servers for both should be the same.

Can you give me your domain name so i can take a look :geek: if you want to keep it private then i understand if you don't want to give it me. ;)

Exposing your home network and your personal computer to this kind of external access presents some dangers. To protect yourself, you will need to secure any access you allow to your friends. The simple home network with its lack of passwords and other secure sockets will no longer do.

Thank you for bringing this up. I am concerned about exposing the network to external known and unknown users.

- The Apache website can be set up with simple HTTP passwords.

- The Firewall/router only opens access to port 80

- The machine with webserver and other machines gets NAT ip adresses so no direct exposure to the internet

What else is there to do to secure the network? Ofcourse always havin Windows up to date also .. :-)

Is there any way for outsiders to gain access to the Windows file sharing?

Hello jonaslie! and welcome to Windows Seven Forums!

I am not the one to help you setup your secure home network. Perhaps others can help you there. When you login remotely, you will need to use encryption, SSL for example, or your passwords could be intercepted compromising your personal data located on your home network.

I found this link posted earlier by Jacee to be a very good read. It might give you an idea of what you are up against?
