Aplication not responding

All of a sudden, my desktop applications stop working and I get a notice that it is not responding. This has occurred with Paint Shop Pro, Firefox, and Internet explorer. It may be occurring with other apps as well but I haven'nt tried them all. They will boot up and appear to work properly but after a while the problem arises. I have run 2 anti-virus programs, malwarebytes, Advanced System Care, IO bit, ad-aware and spybot but cleaning the system didn't help. Any suggestions?

Now my printer gave me the same message as not responding.

a bit over kill ,hope you don't have both anti-virus programs set to realtime protection at the same time ,could cause conflicts ,im not a fan of system care tools as they can cause trouble [my opinion ] maybe try running system file checker ,http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

First, Both anti-virus apps are not set to monitoring at the same time. I ran the system file checker as you suggested and it came up clean. However, I am no longer having the problem. What happened, I have no idea. Thanks for your help. I have copied the info out on the system file checker so I can use it in the future.

its been awhile since i use sfc myself so i cant remember how it actually reports what it done ,but maybe it fixed a few system file , not sure ,but here's hoping it keeps working for you
