Somebody told me that allot of App Shortcuts take up resources.

I'm running Win 7 64bit.

Is this true?

So I created a Desktop Folder called "My Programs" and moved all my Short Cuts there.

Then I was told that isn't good either.

What is right?

I can't imagine it would make any significant difference. I don't like a lot of shortcuts on the desktop b/c it's not organized.
