So, I have Windows 7 Pro 64 - which I loved... But most games I run crash giving me this error:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: nfs.exe
Application Version: 1.1.2.1
Application Timestamp: 49f90641
Fault Module Name: nfs.exe
Fault Module Version: 1.1.2.1
Fault Module Timestamp: 49f90641
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 001ff312
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
Locale ID: 2057
Additional Information 1: dc91

Additional Information 3: 7403
Additional Information 4: 740306716219857f086e5b3f6a41cce8

Games I have tried that do this:
NFS Undercover
NFS Shift
COD: Modern Warfare 1
COD: Modern Warfare 2

So, I gave up and seeing that these games happily run on XP, I decided to dual boot with XP Pro 32. No I am getting this same problem on XP as well. I know the NFS games worked on XP no problem but not anymore. I have done memtest on my RAM, un-overclocked the PC no difference. I tried SFC, no joy...

Please someone help!

That exception code is memory exception probably caused by a driver. Are you getting BSOD's, and if so please

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

I'll do that as soon as it crashes again. I got some advice to up the voltage on my CPU, did that and so far so good.

I expect the next APPCRASH isn't far away but here's hoping!
