CVC.exe seems to be malicious software. It may be a part of PC Cleaners. Doing a search for PC Cleaners indicates that it may not be on the up-and-up. Where did you get the software? Are you able to remove it?

The CVC.exe is from Cummins Engines Corporation. It is part of our Technician Training Program. It is used to play training videos, then test us, and then send our test results back to Cummins. I do have PC Cleaner Pro installed on my laptop thou, and i use Norton 360. Are you saying PC Cleaner is not a good program? I use that and CCleaner together, along with my Norton to clean my system regularly. But i do not allow PC Cleaner or CCleaner to run in the background. Only when i want to scan my system. I assumed Norton would take care of any malware but i will install the one you have listed and see what it finds.

Here is a log of the malware that was detected. Can you take a look at this and see if you see something that could have been causing my issues?

Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ws-7-a.html?filter[2]=Performance Maintenance.

That being said, I use CCleaner myself, but I do not let it clean my registry for me. I go through the items it finds and remove the ones I agree with manually. I would recommend not letting any registry cleaning software maintain the registry automatically unless you are familiar enough with the registry to double check it and make sure the automatic cleaning is not removing any questionable items.

It appears you had a bit of spyware on your system. It is probably not too much of a security breach, but it may be wise to change your online passwords for bank accounts, paypal, amazon, ebay, etc. and anything else you might be worried about someone getting information to. Typically, spyware only tracks what sites you visited, but it is better to lean toward caution. If you have made any online purchases, monitor your credit card activity for a while or call your companies to ask them to keep a closer watch on any out of the ordinary activity.
